March for Science

Date: April 22, 2017 Time: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Event Description This March is a celebration of Science and Earth Day. It will start at Loop Field next to Evergreen School at 12:00 PM and participants will walk and talk around downtown Shelton and arrive at the Transit Community Center for a presentation at 2:00 PM. There will be video programs by Dr. Gushee on Antarctica and Andy Farrington on Wing Suit Flying and information tables. Group discussions will follow. Shelton Cinemas will host free movies showing Hidden Figures and Lorax Saturday morning.

The main focus, of this non-political event, is to inspire youth to dream big and take the challenge to learn and to use science to guide choices in their lives. This is all part of a national campaign. Please check the following link: https://www.marchforscience.com/ Volunteer scientists wearing green wristbands will talk about their experiences in school and the workforce.
