Free interactive workshop series for kids!
Workshops can be attended individually – registration for full series is not required. Dress your child for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes. Bring any needed gear (raincoat, hat, etc.) for outdoor fun.
Drop off your child a few minutes before the workshop starts and pick them up at 5:30 PM.
Guardians cannot sit in on workshops but are welcome to explore the Salmon Center and Theler Wetlands during class.
Soil is something we see every day, but what’s really going on under the surface? Soil affects plant growth, the food we eat, and shapes the earth! Join us for a free interactive workshop where kids will learn about how soil is formed, the different soil horizons, and what makes soil healthy. In a hands-on activity, kids will collect and learn how to identify types of soil and explore what’s living under the surface of a worm bin!
