Apr 1    Shelton Kiwanis Club Meeting
Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

The Shelton Kiwanis Club meets each Tuesday at Smoking Mo's Magnolia Room. Lunch begins at 11:30 AM with program from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. The programs cover a variety of topics from non-profits, governmental entities, and community members.

The Kiwanis Club of Shelton has been serving it's community since 1924 following sponsorship by the Olympia Club. Since that time, members have been active in the community serving "Pancakes in the Park" for over 60 years, awarding numerous scholarships to colleges, trade schools and the Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp.

Shelton Kiwanians have been keeping things clean by participating in the Washington Adopt-A-Highway Program for more than 20 years. The Club takes part in the OysterFest seafood festival each year and is active with city parks and the recent establishment of Shelton's first community garden, Catalyst Park.

Apr 4    "High and Hallowed: Everest 1963"

A documentary that tells the story of Willi Unsoeld and Tom Hornbein's pioneering ascent of the West Ridge of Mt. Everest on May 22, 1963. It examines the commitment and passion that helped them succeed.      

This event is put on by the Choice High School Outdoor Club to help them raise money for their own adventures, there will also be a silent auction.

Apr 7    Chamber Government Affairs Committee Meeting

The Chamber's Government Affairs Committee monitors and facilitates discussion related to local, state and federal government impacts that may affect the business community of Mason County. 

The committee also responds to concerns expressed by local businesses, considering input from Chamber members and affected stakeholders. The committee works through business issues that may require public policy positions by the Chamber and then makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees.

The committee attempts to be broad-based, representing the diverse sectors of the Chamber’s membership and is comprised of eight voting members and a committee chair who is appointed by the Chamber Board President. The eight voting committee members are required to submit an application and are appointed annually by the Board of Trustees.

Any Chamber member may attend committee meetings and provide input; only committee members may vote. Members of government entities or municipalities must receive permission from the Chair prior to attending each meeting. Meetings are the first Monday* of each month at Osaka Sushi & Asian Bistro, 506 W Railroad Ave, Shelton from 12:00 - 1:00 PM and are chaired by Atty. Julie Nichols, (360) 426-5885.

The Shelton Kiwanis Club meets each Tuesday at Smoking Mo's Magnolia Room. Lunch begins at 11:30 AM with program from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. The programs cover a variety of topics from non-profits, governmental entities, and community members.

The Kiwanis Club of Shelton has been serving it's community since 1924 following sponsorship by the Olympia Club. Since that time, members have been active in the community serving "Pancakes in the Park" for over 60 years, awarding numerous scholarships to colleges, trade schools and the Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp.

Shelton Kiwanians have been keeping things clean by participating in the Washington Adopt-A-Highway Program for more than 20 years. The Club takes part in the OysterFest seafood festival each year and is active with city parks and the recent establishment of Shelton's first community garden, Catalyst Park.
