Help Raise funds for Special Olympics Washington by supporting local law enforcement agencies in the 2017 Mason County Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Cheer on Law Enforcement Torch Runners and Special Olympians as they run the torch route through Mason County.

The June meeting will feature a presentation about the environmental movement, Big Government, and the importance of citizen activism with presenter Glen Morgan.

The Mason County Republican Women's Club is a group of like-minded individuals (both men and women) gathering each month to hear timely topics presented by various speakers in our area.  The club's goal is to educate in order to effect positive change in Olympia and to have a lot of fun doing it!
 
A buffet luncheon is available for $12 but is not required to attend the meeting.  If you decide to eat, the meal price includes the buffet, hot tea and gratuity.

Jun 3    Forest Festival Goldsborough Creek Run/Walk/Jog
This event is part of the annual Mason County Forest Festival.  All events, except junior jog, begin at Shelton Valley, a farming community west of Shelton city limits.   Check-in for all participants and DOR registration begins at 6:00 am at the Shelton Post Office Park.    Participants will be bussed from check-in to the start line.      7 mile participants will follow the Shelton Valley loop through a farming community.  2 mile participants leave Shelton Valley proper and go directly to downtown Shelton.   All races conclude on parade route in front of the Post Office.   1/4 mile junior joggers begin at 7th street and continue to the Shelton Post Office just prior to the Mason County Forest Festival parade.

The Shelton High School NJROTC Booster Club hosts one of the largest one day car shows in the Northwest.

The event attracts hot rod, custom, classic, vintage and special interest cars from all over. Olympic Highway north on Mountainview is closed for traffic and is packed with vehicles for all to see.

Registration
Starts at Sunday, 8:00 AM at the Main Stage on the corner of Olympic Highway North and G street. Dash plaques to the first 300 vehicles that register.

Jun 4    Forest Festival Duck Race
Kristmas Town Kiwanis conducts the annual wooden duck race in conjunction with Mason County Forest Festival.

Each duck can be purchased for $1.00.

The numbered ducks are dropped into Goldsborough Creek at the 7th Street bridge and float to the finish line just west of the First Street bridge in downtown Shelton. The first duck to cross the finish line wins the big prize for the individual that purchased it and top finishing ducks will earn prizes too.

Ducks can be purchased ($1 "buck" a duck) from Kristmas Town Kiwanis members during the Paul Bunyan Parade.

Jun 6    Shelton Kiwanis Club Meeting
Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

The Shelton Kiwanis Club meets each Tuesday at Smoking Mo's Magnolia Room. Lunch begins at 11:30 AM with program from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. The programs cover a variety of topics from non-profits, governmental entities, and community members.

The Kiwanis Club of Shelton has been serving it's community since 1924 following sponsorship by the Olympia Club. Since that time, members have been active in the community serving "Pancakes in the Park" for over 60 years, awarding numerous scholarships to colleges, trade schools and the Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp.

Shelton Kiwanians have been keeping things clean by participating in the Washington Adopt-A-Highway Program for more than 20 years. The Club takes part in the OysterFest seafood festival each year and is active with city parks and the recent establishment of Shelton's first community garden, Catalyst Park.

Kick off the summer by learning how to keep diabetes under control, and keep it well-managed! Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics invites people with diabetes to attend “Living Well with Diabetes.”  This three-day class in diabetes self-management will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, June 6 - 7, 6:00 - 9:00 PM and Friday, June 8 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the Pershing Meeting Room at Mason General Hospital.

Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics has a team of Diabetes Wellness professionals who teach the class, covering everything about diabetes – from diagnosis, to medications, meal planning, exercise, prevention and treatment of complications, stress management, living well, and engaging support people and a health care team. Their expert guidance in managing diabetes aims to help patients and families enjoy normal, healthy living. 

As space for the class is limited, registration is required in advance by calling Debbie McGinnis, R.N., certified diabetes educator, at (360) 426-1611, ext. 28941 (from Allyn (360) 275-8614, ext. 28941).  Diabetes education is a covered service under most insurance plans.

Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics is again offering community First Aid/CPR/AED courses on the second Thursday of each month, September through June, from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. Classes are held at the Hospital’s Learning Center, located next to the Shelton McDonald’s on Olympic Highway N.

The four-hour evening class is open to all members of the community, and combines First Aid, CPR and AED training, with a course completion eCard offered upon its successful completion.

Each class is limited to 16 persons. A fee of $35 (exact cash or check) is required in advance to cover the cost of books and materials. A Spanish interpreter can be made available on request, and comfortable clothing is recommended.  Preregister by calling the Learning Center at (360) 427-3609.

Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

This special, annual meeting will honor law enforcement agencies in Mason County.

The Shelton Kiwanis Club regularly meets each Tuesday at Smoking Mo's Magnolia Room. Lunch begins at 11:30 AM with program from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. The programs cover a variety of topics from non-profits, governmental entities, and community members.

The Kiwanis Club of Shelton has been serving it's community since 1924 following sponsorship by the Olympia Club. Since that time, members have been active in the community serving "Pancakes in the Park" for over 60 years, awarding numerous scholarships to colleges, trade schools and the Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp.

Shelton Kiwanians have been keeping things clean by participating in the Washington Adopt-A-Highway Program for more than 20 years. The Club takes part in the OysterFest seafood festival each year and is active with city parks and the recent establishment of Shelton's first community garden, Catalyst Park.

Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

The Shelton Kiwanis Club meets each Tuesday at Smoking Mo's Magnolia Room. Lunch begins at 11:30 AM with program from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. The programs cover a variety of topics from non-profits, governmental entities, and community members.

The Kiwanis Club of Shelton has been serving it's community since 1924 following sponsorship by the Olympia Club. Since that time, members have been active in the community serving "Pancakes in the Park" for over 60 years, awarding numerous scholarships to colleges, trade schools and the Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp.

Shelton Kiwanians have been keeping things clean by participating in the Washington Adopt-A-Highway Program for more than 20 years. The Club takes part in the OysterFest seafood festival each year and is active with city parks and the recent establishment of Shelton's first community garden, Catalyst Park.

Habitat for Humanity of Mason County is hosting an Upcycle Block Party. This event is on June 24, 2017 in the parking lot of the store. There will be raffles, games for kids, and food with tons of information on how to upcycle. A garden shed/kids’ playhouse are being raffled at $5 a raffle ticket. There are other raffle prizes ($5 for 25 tickets) such as gift certificates, upcycled items made by your own store’s community, even a birthday party with Mason County Fire District 5. There will be demonstrations on upcycling, which is a way to take something old and make it completely different and new. Jake, the sheriff dog, will be making an appearance as well. You definitely don’t want to miss out on this fun experience. It’s a great way to learn how to reuse resources, spend some money on a good cause, and have a great time with family and friends. Be ready to join them for a great afternoon of fun!

Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

The Shelton Kiwanis Club meets each Tuesday at Smoking Mo's Magnolia Room. Lunch begins at 11:30 AM with program from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. The programs cover a variety of topics from non-profits, governmental entities, and community members.

The Kiwanis Club of Shelton has been serving it's community since 1924 following sponsorship by the Olympia Club. Since that time, members have been active in the community serving "Pancakes in the Park" for over 60 years, awarding numerous scholarships to colleges, trade schools and the Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp.

Shelton Kiwanians have been keeping things clean by participating in the Washington Adopt-A-Highway Program for more than 20 years. The Club takes part in the OysterFest seafood festival each year and is active with city parks and the recent establishment of Shelton's first community garden, Catalyst Park.
