Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

The Shelton Kiwanis Club meets each Tuesday at Smoking Mo's Magnolia Room. Lunch begins at 11:30 AM with program from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. The programs cover a variety of topics from non-profits, governmental entities, and community members.

The Kiwanis Club of Shelton has been serving it's community since 1924 following sponsorship by the Olympia Club. Since that time, members have been active in the community serving "Pancakes in the Park" for over 60 years, awarding numerous scholarships to colleges, trade schools and the Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp.

Shelton Kiwanians have been keeping things clean by participating in the Washington Adopt-A-Highway Program for more than 20 years. The Club takes part in the OysterFest seafood festival each year and is active with city parks and the recent establishment of Shelton's first community garden, Catalyst Park.

Apr 11    A Fresh Start Workshop at Mason General Hospital
Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics and Harmony Hill Retreat Center partner in a year-long Cancer Wellness Program that features a series of monthly workshops to provide coping strategies and positive attitudes for healing that lead to positive change.  Discover informative, healthy, and creative ways to step forward by attending these workshops.

The Cancer Wellness Program, hosted by MGH&FC Patient Navigator Marcia Stauffer and facilitated by Harmony Hill faculty member Melissa Layer, presents a variety of topics and speakers to help build confidence, emotional strength and coping strategies to help individuals feel a sense of control in their lives. Guest speaker Sara Fulkerson, RD, CDE,  will provide tips for healthy eating and Melissa will offer visioning tools for the new year.

The basics of First Aid, CPR and AED training are covered in response to emergencies with adults, children and infants, and an eCard will be provided to students who successfully complete the course.  A fee of $40 (exact cash or check) is required in advance to cover the cost of books and materials, and comfortable clothing is suggested for all participants.  The course is open to the entire community and a Spanish interpreter can be made available on request.

Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

The Shelton Kiwanis Club meets each Tuesday at Smoking Mo's Magnolia Room. Lunch begins at 11:30 AM with program from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. The programs cover a variety of topics from non-profits, governmental entities, and community members.

The Kiwanis Club of Shelton has been serving it's community since 1924 following sponsorship by the Olympia Club. Since that time, members have been active in the community serving "Pancakes in the Park" for over 60 years, awarding numerous scholarships to colleges, trade schools and the Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp.

Shelton Kiwanians have been keeping things clean by participating in the Washington Adopt-A-Highway Program for more than 20 years. The Club takes part in the OysterFest seafood festival each year and is active with city parks and the recent establishment of Shelton's first community garden, Catalyst Park.

Celebrate the tideflats! Every year Hama Hama Oysters welcomes the public to their beach to learn about oysters, oyster farming, and life in the Hood Canal, aquatic and other. They call this beach ho-down the Hama Hama Oyster Rama. It's not the biggest party in the world, but it might be the biggest sub-tidal one!

The Rama features tours with intertidal ecologists and oyster growers, u-pick oysters and clams, an oyster-sports competition we call the Shuckathalon, a beer and wine garden, kid's activities, live music, and various delicious food options. Every year, the Rama benefits local Hood Canal charities

Tickets are needed for everybody 16 and up (this means folks 15 and under get in free). Tickets get you into the event and entered into a raffle drawing. Food, drink, oysters and clams are available for purchase using $5 tokens. You can buy tokens ahead of time (highly recommended) or at the event for cash or credit.

The Traveler 5.5K Run/Walk celebrates the return of spring in Union, WA. The Traveler is a rock formation on the face of Mt. Washington visible only for a few months every year and only from the Union view of the mountain over Earth Day weekend.

The race will be held at Alderbrook Golf Club’s outdoor space "The Pointe." This site offers a spectacular high bank view of this apparition and a wonderful 2-acre event space to promote Hood Canal business/organizations, food, art, and Pacific Northwest recreation.

Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

The Shelton Kiwanis Club meets each Tuesday at Smoking Mo's Magnolia Room. Lunch begins at 11:30 AM with program from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. The programs cover a variety of topics from non-profits, governmental entities, and community members.

The Kiwanis Club of Shelton has been serving it's community since 1924 following sponsorship by the Olympia Club. Since that time, members have been active in the community serving "Pancakes in the Park" for over 60 years, awarding numerous scholarships to colleges, trade schools and the Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp.

Shelton Kiwanians have been keeping things clean by participating in the Washington Adopt-A-Highway Program for more than 20 years. The Club takes part in the OysterFest seafood festival each year and is active with city parks and the recent establishment of Shelton's first community garden, Catalyst Park.

Apr 27    Hippie Night at Bingo Karaoke
The Mason County Senior Activities Center invites you for an evening of crazy multi-generational fun, combining a zany version of Bingo that alternates with karaoke, jokes and crowd-pleasing sing-a-longs. All Adults 21 years and older are invited. 

This month's theme is Hippie Night! Have your picture taken with Flower Power and Peace Symbols, with door prize drawings for wearing "hippie" attire.

 
Cost: $10 per person for admission & 8 bingo games ($30 pay-out/game) & Karaoke. No advance purchases. Optional 50/50 split Bingo games are an additional $5 each and include a raffle ticket for a custom prize basket and a chance to win a big bonus payout. 
 
No outside food & drinks are allowed. A no-host snack and beverage bar is available. Items include: hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, nachos, sundaes, soda, water, and an assortment of beer, liquor, wine, Mike's Hard Lemonade & mixed drinks. 
 
Each month has a new optional theme for more fun & prizes. Check it out and come dressed to impress!
